Sue ran a successful guest house in Hexham, Northumberland for a number of years before we moved to our favorite holiday town of Keswick to run Larry's Lodge. Sue also used to puppy walk for Guide Dogs For The Blind raising seven puppies. All of them passed to become Guide Dogs For The Blind. In her spare time, Sue enjoys making quilts and creating cross stitches. Sue continues to do public speaking for Guide Dogs and takes our "boys" with her on her talks.
Larry was our first puppy from Guide Dogs For The Blind. He retired early because of ill health and enjoyed moving to Keswick. He loved to meet our guests and usually greeted them with his favorite toy. Larry loved all the many walks that can be found just a few minutes from our house. He was a great fund raiser for Guide Dogs For The Blind and enjoyed all the coffee mornings where he worked hard meeting people. We are very grateful for the few happy years that we had with him in his retirement. Kyle enjoys helping to run our guest house. A reject from Guide Dogs For The Blind training programme as he felt he didn't want to be a Guide Dog. Kyle joined us in February 2007, at the tender age of 11 months. He's a very friendly puppy and he's part Retriever and part Irish Water Spaniel with a unique curly coat. Kyle likes to go and help Sue with her Guide Dog talks. Arthur was our third Guide Dog Puppy and he joined us in 2009 after a very happy, successful working life. He is still enjoying his retirement with the occasional walk around the park or a nice splash in the lake with Kyle. |
