Sue ran a successful guest house in Hexham, Northumberland for a number of years before we moved to our favorite holiday town of Keswick to run Larry's Lodge. Sue also used to puppy walk for Guide Dogs For The Blind raising seven puppies, all of the puppies graduated to become working Guide Dogs For The Blind. Now, Sue continues to do public speaking for Guide Dogs For The Blind and Kyle likes to accompany Sue on her talks. Sue also an avid quilt maker in her spare time.
Dave is very keen on fishing, running the web site, photography, and walking around the hills and fells of Keswick as well as helping Sue to run the guest house. Dave is also trying his hand at painting, you may see a few samples of his work around our house.
Larry was our first puppy from Guide Dogs For The Blind. He retired early because of ill health and enjoyed moving to Keswick. He loved to meet our guests and usually greeted them with his favorite toy. Larry loved all the many walks that can be found just a few minutes from our house. He was a great fund raiser for Guide Dogs For The Blind and enjoyed all the coffee mornings where he worked hard meeting people. We are very grateful for the few happy years that we had with him in his retirement.
Larry died very suddenly late November 2006, he will be sadly missed by all who met him.
Kyle enjoys helping to run our guest house. A reject from Guide Dogs For The Blind training programme as he felt he didn't want to be a Guide Dog. Kyle joined us in February 2007, at the tender age of 11 months. He's a very friendly dog and he's part Retriever and part Irish Water Spaniel with a unique curly coat. Kyle loves to accompany Dave on his walks on the fells and is also a registered Guide Dogs Ambassador as he enjoys helping Sue with her Guide Dog talks.
Theo joined us in 2015 when he retired from Guide Dogs For The Blind. Theo, who is a Golden Labradour, is also very friendly and active, he just loves to meet people and has settled into retired life with great happiness.
