Kyle
Kyle
Our new puppy is called Kyle and he joined the Larry's Lodge happy home at the tender age of 10 months, on Thursday Feb 15th.
Kyle was training to be a Guide Dog For The Blind but he decided that he didn't want to take on the role of guiding. He's far more interested in watching other people and other dogs and enjoys listening to the dawn chorus. Hes a very friendly chap and loves to meet other people. Being part Guide Dog trained, his recall is excellent. He has been trained to answer the whistle and usually comes straight away when the whistle is blown.

March 2nd 2007.Kyle enjoyed his first walk along the Keswick Old Railway foot path and found time to pose for his photo with Blencathra in the background.
Sue and Kyle walking along the old railway line from Keswick. This is an excellent walk being on the flat, its also one of the C2C route's and bicycles should give way to pedestrians. The route follows the picturesque river Greta, crossing this tiny river several times.
Kyle on one of the bridges over the river Greta, near Keswick. He's enjoying the many smells. Could that be a red squirrel scent?
One of the hills that Kyle has managed to climb so far, is Castlehead. This is a gentle climb after a short walk through a wood. The views from this hill top can be quite stunning. A few locals like to climb this hill
on a summers evening to whatch the sun set.
Cattbells in the background! Kyle has his sights on this hill, maybe in afew months time he may be strong enough to climb it. Watch this space.
Kyles
first walk to the top of Skiddaw.
We walked from the Mire House tea shop , through the forest around Little Dodd
and eventualy over the Struggle to climb Skiddaw.
If anyone is interested in puppy walking or taking on a retired Guide Dog, you can find your local Centre by logging onto Guide Dogs for the Blind(UK). Call them up and have a chat, they are really nice people to talk to.
We do realize that not everyone is keen about dogs. So we have a few house rules that pets must follow. Kyle is only allowed to meet the guests if the guests want to meet him!
During breakfast time, Kyle is kept away from the guests as the temptation of all that food could prove too much for him!.
